DELFIA TRF Assays
DELFIA® (dissociation-enhanced lanthanide fluorescent immunoassay) TRF technology combines the benefits of time resolved fluorescence (TRF) with the use of lanthanide chelates for a highly sensitive, robust and reproducible assay format. With over 20 years of history, and thousands of publications, DELFIA is ideal for simple to complex matrices and can be used for both biochemical and cell-based assays.
The use of long-lifetime fluorescent lanthanide chelates, rather than other fluorophores, allows for a delay in measurement between excitation and emissions, which occur simultaneously in standard fluorometric assays. By combining the benefits of TRF with the use of lanthanide chelates, DELFIA offers multiple advantages over standard fluorometric detection:

DELFIA® time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) cell proliferation kit for measuring cytotoxicity or proliferation in mammalian cells.
DELFIA® TRF (time-resolved fluorescence) cytotoxicity kit for measuring chemical cytotoxicity, cell-mediated cytotoxicity, and antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity (ADCC). This kit has the same assay principle as a chromium release assay, with target cells loaded with a BATDA ligand instead of 51Cr. There is no requirement for specially-engineered cells.
