The First-Trimester Screening is an early optional non-invasive evaluation that combines a maternal blood screening test identify risks for specific chromosomal abnormalities, including Down Syndrome Trisomy-21 and Trisomy-18.

Indications for Testing

The maternal serum screening test is a blood test offered to pregnant women. It helps to inform them of the chance of their unborn child having Down syndrome, Edward syndrome or a Patau Syndrome.

Condition Description

This early First Trimester Screening is performed between the 9th and 10th week of pregnancy.
