ROX labeled dideoxyadenosine triphosphate is biologically active and can be incorporated with a variety of DNA polymerases including Taq, Klenow fragment, and Sequenase™. It terminates further incorporation and enables identification of the complementary base for applications like DNA sequencing and detection of point mutations via single base extension.
