3-O-methyl-D-glucose, labeled on the methyl group with C-14. 3-O-methyl-D-glucose (OMG) is a glucose analog that is readily transported into most cells, but does not become phosphorylated and therefore will equilibrate across the cell membrane. Equilibrium is usually reached rapidly, so glucose uptake assays may only be linear for a short period of time; you may need to take your measurements fairly quickly. This analog cannot be further metabolized by cells.
For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

250 µCi quantities of 3-0-[Methyl-14C]-Methyl-D-glucose are available for your research. Application of [14C]3-O-Methyl-D-glucose ([14C]3OMG) can be found in: perfusion-independent effect of bradykinin and fosinoprilate on glucose transport in Langendorff rat hearts, phosphorylation of 3-O-methyl-D-glucose by yeast and beef hexokinase, prostanoid modulation of glucose transport in isolated diabetic rat uterus, effect of bioflavonoids on vincristine transport across blood–brain barrier, insulin down-regulating the Na+/K+ ATPase in enterocytes but increasing intestinal glucose absorption, etc.
