The AlphaLISA® SureFire® Ultra™ Human Phospho-Tau (Ser214) assay is a sandwich immunoassay for quantitative detection of phospho-Tau (Ser214) in cellular lysates using Alpha Technology.
For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. All products to be used in accordance with applicable laws and regulations including without limitation, consumption & disposal requirements under European REACH regulations (EC 1907/2006).
Tau, also known as MAPT (Microtubule Associated Protein Tau), is a phosphoprotein that is mostly produced in neurons of the central nervous system and is involved in microtubule construction and stability. Around 85 phosphorylation sites are present in Tau, and numerous kinases, including CDK5, MAP kinase, and GSK3 (Tau's primary kinase), can phosphorylate these sites. Numerous neurodegenerative diseases, including Tauopathy, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's, are characterized by Tau hyperphosphorylation and aggregation.
The AlphaLISA SureFire Human Phospho-Tau (Ser214) Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of phosphorylated tau Ser214 in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.
