RNA Polymerase II, also known as RNAP II and Pol II, is one of three RNA polymerase enzymes found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. Pol II is responsible for unspooling the genetic program in the form of protein-coding mRNAs and some small non-coding RNAs. A wide range of transcription factors are required for Pol II to bind to upstream gene promoters and begin transcriptions. Inhibitors targeting Pol II transcription machinery are potential therapeutics in various cancers and complex diseases.
The AlphaLISA SureFire Human and Mouse Phospho-RNA POL II (Ser2) Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of phospho-RNA POL II (Ser2) in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.
