Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B (p27 KIP1) is an enzyme inhibitor that is encoded by the CDKN1B gene. The p27 protein inhibits the activity of CDK2–cyclin E and CDK4–cyclin D complexes at the G1-phase and functions as a CDK-inhibitor that halts the S-phase transition. Mitogenic signals that decrease p27 expression allow CDK/cyclin activation and cell cycle progression. This protein participates in numerous signal transduction pathways and mediates tumor suppressor or oncogenic roles in cancers such as breast, colon, prostate, lung, esophageal, gastric, and ovarian.
The AlphaLISA SureFire Human and Mouse Phospho-p27 KIP1 (Ser10) Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of phospho-p27 KIP1 (Ser10) in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.
