Nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells inhibitor α (IkBα) is a member of a family of cellular proteins that function to inhibit NF-kB transcription factor. When IkBα is phosphorylated by IKKβ, this prevents IkBα from inhibiting NF-kB which then frees NF-kB and allows it to enter the nucleus of the cell, where it activates various genes involved in inflammation and other immune responses. The IKKβ signaling pathway is associated with numerous therapeutic areas, including diseases such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and many types of cancers.
The AlphaLISA SureFire Ultra Human and Mouse Phospho-IkBα (Ser32/36) is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of Phospho-IkBα (Ser32/36) in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.
