Androgen Receptor (AR) is a type of nuclear receptor that is activated by androgen hormones, such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. Gene expression induced by AR results in cell division, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and angiogenesis. Dysregulation of the AR pathway could lead to oncogenic phenotypes, and AR activation has been widely linked to prostate cancer as well as other types of cancer, like breast cancer and glioblastoma. The development of PROTAC compounds to target AR degradation is a part of the therapeutic strategy to target AR positive cancers.

The AlphaLISA SureFire Human and Mouse Total Androgen Receptor Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of total Androgen Receptor in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.

• The HV (high volume) kit contains reagents to run 100 wells in 96-well format, using a 60 μL reaction volume.
• The 500-point kit contains enough reagents to run 500 wells in 384-well format, using a 20 μL reaction volume.
