Head Global Omic Services
Ephrem is an experienced genOMICS professional and has held various commercial and scientific/technical roles at Auckland District Health Board, Baylor College of Medicine, Emory University, Oxford Gene Technology and Revvity. Ephrem is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology in Molecular Biology and Quality & Laboratory Compliance and is licensed as a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist by the California Department of Public Health. He holds a bachelor’s in biotechnology with 1st Class Honors from University of Auckland and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
Madhuri Hegde, Ph.D., FACMG
Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Madhuri Hegde, FACMG, is the SVP and Chief Scientific Officer of Revvity, responsible for setting the strategic scientific direction of the Company. As both a medical geneticist and American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) certified diplomat in clinical molecular genetics, Madhuri is also the head of Revvity Omics and its global network of laboratories offering innovative, omics-based services in more than 155 countries worldwide.
Madhuri is a passionate and perpetually curious leader whose team is committed to delivering cutting-edge products to Revvity customers, while keeping a close eye on innovation and bringing those developments to market. Madhuri is energized by bringing people and teams together to make a difference and harness science to positively impact human health.
Making the switch from academia to industry in 2016, Madhuri joined Revvity from Emory University in Atlanta, where she served as Executive Director of the Emory Genetics Laboratory and as a professor of human genetics and pediatrics. Before that, she spent several years at the Baylor College of Medicine where she was faculty in the Department of Human Genetics and Director at Baylor Medical Laboratories. She also served several years as a laboratory director at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand.
Madhuri currently serves on the board and is an officer of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics Foundation (ACMGF), and leads the ACMG’s International Outreach and Engagement Committee. She is also a member of the ABMGG Board of Directors, serves on Coriell Cell Repositories NIGMS Human Genetic Cell Repository Scientific Advisory Committee, co-chairs ClinGen’s PTEN committee and is a member of the NHGRI ClinGen Hereditary Cancer Executive Committee. She is an adjunct professor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine and at Georgia Institute of Technology; has either authored or co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and eight book chapters; and presented well over 100 keynote and other invited presentations at major national and international conferences.
Exposed to science and the field of genetics at an early age, Madhuri’s decision to pursue a career in this field was heavily influenced by academics and other scientists in her family. She was born and raised in India and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in microbiology at the University of Mumbai. Madhuri also holds a PhD in applied biology and genetics from the University of Auckland, and completed her postdoctoral studies and ABMGG certification at Baylor College of Medicine.
P.J. Borandi, MBA
Senior Director - Operations
PJ’s responsibilities include global laboratory operations in addition to being the Site Leader for the Pittsburgh, PA location. He encourages everyone to transform data into insights and uncover solutions that ensure accurate diagnoses, guide treatment decisions, and protect patient health. Prior to taking on his current role, he worked in the information technology field with a specific concentration in health care information systems. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Waynesburg University. He is currently also a board member at a for-profit organization and volunteer.

Christin Collins, Ph.D., FACMG
Senior Laboratory Director
Dr. Christin Collins is a Senior Laboratory Director at Revvity Omics Laboratory. Dr. Collins leads the global team overseeing variant analysis and clinical reporting. She received a Ph.D. from the University of Florida and did her Clinical Laboratory Training at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Collins is ABMGG board certified in Clinical Molecular genetics. Her research interests include the translation of molecular techniques to clinical genetics, the genetics of rare disorders, and the complex genetics of autism spectrum disorders.
Taraka Donti, Ph.D., FACMG
CLIA Laboratory Director
Dr. Taraka Donti is the CLIA Laboratory Director and Director of Laboratory Services at Revvity Omics Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Donti is involved in several aspects of laboratory operations and in charge of the R&D group at Pittsburgh. He received a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in Biochemistry. He completed post-doctoral studies at Baylor College of Medicine and is ABMGG board certified in Clinical Biochemical Genetics. Hi research interests include Inborn Errors of Metabolism, Metabolomics, mitochondrial biology and translational research.
Ruby Liu, MS, Ph.D., LCGC
Lead of Genetic counseling
Ruby Liu is a certified senior laboratory genetic counselor (GC) with over a decade of experience in the field of genetic counseling. She currently leads the genetic counseling team at Revvity Omics. Ruby holds a PhD degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology and has completed her master’s degree training at the accredited Arcadia University Genetic Counseling Program. She is an active member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) and Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen). Throughout her career, Ruby has participated in and completed various projects, collaborations, and publications. She is passionate about laboratory genetic counseling and dedicated to providing the best service and support to the clients and patients.
Babi Ramesh Reddy Nallamilli, Ph.D., FACMG
Lead R&D Director and Laboratory Director of Clinical Molecular Genetics
Dr. Babi Ramesh Reddy Nallamilli is a clinical molecular geneticist with over 10 years of experience in the field of clinical molecular genetics and genomics. Expertise includes clinical case reporting, new test validations and development, scientific writing, and publications in scientific journals. He received PhD from Mississippi State University. He completed post-doctoral studies at Emory University School of Medicine and is ABMGG board certified in Clinical Molecular Genetics.
Arul J Duraisamy, Ph.D.
Assistant Director, Clinical Genomics
Dr. Arul Duraisamy is a Clinical Molecular Geneticist at Revvity Omics Laboratory in Chennai, India with over a decade of research and clinical experience in molecular genetics. Dr. Duraisamy is involved in analysis and reporting of clinical NGS, Sanger and oversees genomic variant interpretation. He received a Ph.D. in Life Sciences from Defense Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences, Defense R&D Organization, Delhi. He completed post-doctoral studies at Kresge Eye Institute, Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, US. His research interests include Immunology, Endocrinology and Diabetic complications.
Lakshmanan Jagannathan, Ph.D.

Dr. Lakshmanan Jagannathan is a Clinical Molecular Geneticist at Revvity Omics Laboratory in Chennai, India with over a decade of biopharma industry research experience and clinical experience in molecular genetics. Dr. Lakshmanan is involved in analysis and reporting of clinical NGS, Sanger and oversees genomic variant interpretation. He received a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from AU-KBC Research Center, Anna University, Chennai. He completed post-doctoral training at New York University Langone Medical Center (NYULMC), Department of Environmental Medicine, New York, US. His research interests include Genomics, Epigenetic dysregulation by oxidative stress, Multi-omics functional studies.
Lora J.H. Bean, Ph.D., FACMG
Senior Director, Clinical Laboratory
Head, Laboratory Quality Assurance (Global Laboratories)
Dr. Lora J. H. Bean is a Senior Director at Revvity Omics and leads Clinical Laboratory Quality Assurance for the global laboratories. She earned her PhD in the Department of Human Genetics at Case Western Reserve University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University. While at Emory University she also completed clinical laboratory training and achieved certification from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (AMBGG) in Molecular Diagnostics. Dr. Bean served as a Molecular Laboratory Director for Emory Genetic Laboratory from 2005 until the transition to EGL Genetics, LLC in 2015 and as Senior Director in the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory and Regulatory Director, EGL Genetics from 2015-2019 completing her time at Emory as Associate Professor. Dr. Bean has expertise in traditional clinical molecular testing, such as genotyping, fragment analysis and repeat expansion detection, but also newer techniques such as sequencing for rare diseases, next generation sequencing, gene targeted microarrays, and exome sequencing. Dr. Bean has an interest in the application of molecular techniques in newborn screening and was responsible for implementation and oversight for the first five years of second tier molecular testing for cystic fibrosis newborn screening in the state of Georgia. In addition, Dr. Bean has served as a molecular editor for GeneReviews and as a member of the American College of Medical Genetics Laboratory QA / QC Committee, an item writer for the ABMGG, and is currently a Laboratory Inspector and a Biochemical and Molecular Genetics Committee member for the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Bean also serves on several ClinGen expert groups.
Uzay Görmüş, MD, Ph.D., EuSpLM
Clinical Laboratory Director
Dr Uzay Görmüş is the Clinical Laboratory Director at Revvity Omics Sweden. After graduation from the Hacettepe University School of Medicine, she has specialized on Clinical Biochemistry and then she also received a PhD on Molecular Medicine from Istanbul University. She is board certified by Specialists in Laboratory Medicine in Europe (EuSpLM). Her research interests include inborn errors of metabolism, genomics, metabolomics and translational research.
Dr. Naga Guruju, Ph.D., FACMG
Associate Director-Laboratory Services
Naga Guruju is an ABMGG-board certified clinical molecular geneticist currently serving as Associate Director of Laboratory Services at Revvity Omics, where he leads the global clinical reporting team. Previously, Dr. Guruju was the Laboratory Director of Genomics at EGL Genetics. He earned his PhD in Human/Medical Genetics from Osmania University. With a robust background in clinical cytogenetics and genomics, Dr. Guruju continues to drive innovation and excellence in genetic testing and research.
Jorune Balciuniene, Ph.D., FACMG, ErCLG
Associate Director, Clinical Genomics
Laboratory Director for Revvity Omics UK
Dr. Jorune Balciuniene is board-certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) and the European Board of Medical Genetics. She is the laboratory director for the Revvity Omics laboratory in the UK and serves as the ABMGG lab director for the UK and Europe. Dr. Balciuniene received her M.S. in Genetics from Vilnius University in Lithuania and her Ph.D. in Medical Genetics from Uppsala University in Sweden. After more than a decade of academic career in molecular genetics and genomics—first as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota, followed by a faculty appointment at Temple University in Philadelphia—Dr. Balciuniene transitioned to clinical genomic diagnostics by completing the Laboratory Genetics and Genomics training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Balciuniene is committed to providing the highest quality genomics testing services and is passionate about enhancing healthcare by integrating genomic testing services into mainstream medicine.
Rizwan Yousaf, Ph.D.
Assistant Laboratory Director
Dr. Yousaf is an Assistant Laboratory Director at Revvity Omics Laboratory in Duluth, GA. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan. He did his post-doctoral studies in molecular genetics at University of Maryland and National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, NIH. He completed his laboratory genetics and genomics fellowship at the National Human Genome Research Institute, NIH, and is board-eligible for the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Dr. Yousaf is involved in different aspects of laboratory operations including reporting of general genetic testing and of newborn screening confirmatory genetic testing.
Xiangwen Chen-Deutsch, Ph.D., FACMG
Clinical Laboratory Director
Dr. Chen-Deutsch is an ABMGG board-certified clinical molecular geneticist. She is the associate director at Revvity Omics Laboratory and focuses on reporting various clinical laboratory genetic tests. She also manages the reporting of newborn screening molecular tests. Dr. Chen-Deutsch received her Ph.D. in Molecular Pathology and completed a clinical molecular genetics fellowship at Rutgers University New Jersey Medical School. She was conferred a Clinical Medicine degree from Nanjing Medical University and worked as a clinical pathologist in China.
Sumathy Ganesh, Ph.D.
Deputy Manager, Biochemistry Laboratory
Dr. Sumathy Ganesh is the Deputy Manager at Revvity Omics Laboratory in Chennai, India. She oversees the biochemistry laboratory and plays a key role in QMS-related matters. Dr. Sumathy earned her Master's and Doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Madras. Before joining Revvity, Dr. Sumathy served as an Assistant Professor and Research Associate. Her research interests include translational and cancer biology.
Rajiv Rose, Ph.D.
General Manager - Lab Services
Dr. Rajiv Rose is a highly experienced clinical genetic laboratory scientist. He provides laboratory services, validates tests according to customer needs, and develops innovative molecular diagnostic tests with a focus on quality and cost efficiency. Dr. Rose is a NABL authorized signatory for molecular genetics and biochemical genetics, bringing over two decades of experience in human molecular genetics and cytogenetics. He also has expertise in laboratory quality management and NABL and CAP accreditations. Dr. Rose is a recipient of the CSIR_SRF fellowship/grant during his Ph.D. and the National Research Council (NRC), National Academies of Science USA post-doctoral fellowship. Dr. Rose’s interests include human testing, cell line and animal model-based research.
Dr. Vidya Vasu, Ph.D.
Deputy Manager, Molecular Diagnostics
Dr. Vidya Vasu is the Deputy Manager, Molecular Diagnostics at Revvity Omics Laboratory, Chennai, India. She received her doctorate from University of Madras, India (Cytogenetics and Molecular Biology) with 11 years of experience in Prenatal and Postnatal genetic diagnostics. She supervises the process for DNA isolation, MCC, QF-PCR, YMD, MLPA tests and is part of NGS workflow team and also has 5 years of experience working as Senior Cytogeneticist.
