Cell Counting Beads
Cell counting beads for Cellometer and Cellaca instruments
Cellometer™ and Cellaca™ cell counting bead products support users with verifying instrument functionality and establishing routine quality control SOPs for daily, weekly, or monthly instrument performance.
The beads are supplied with a protocol, a certificate of analysis, and pass/fail criteria which users may choose to test concentration or viability read-outs on their instruments.
With the cell counting beads, users can:
- Rapidly verify instrument functionality.
- Mimic a live/dead assay with fluorescent beads.
- Provide quick and simple cell counting checks.
Cellometer check bead solution
Used by Cellometer cell counters with two fluorescence channels (Auto 2000, K2, X2, and Spectrum) to measure total concentration and viability.
N.B. This bead solution does not replace IQOQ (which must be purchased separately).

Polystyrene beads in trypan blue
Used by Cellometer brightfield and fluorescent cell counters (Auto T4, Auto 2000, K2, X2, and Spectrum) to measure total concentration and viability.

Cellaca cell counting beads
- Cellaca brightfield beads are used to measure concentration and are non-fluorescent brightfield beads. They are supplied with a CoA.
- Cellaca viability beads are two color fluorescent beads. These beads measure viability (green and red channels) and are not designed for measuring concentration. The appropriate viability range is provided in the product insert.
- Cellaca FL2 beads kit. The kit contains both the Cellaca Brightfield Beads as well as the Cellaca Viability Beads.
